The Great Swamp is a very important natural treasure located in Colonial Fredericksburg. It was frequently visited by the Wappinger Indians and served as an important source of water for the Continental Army.
The Great Swamp is an important environmental and recreational resource. Preserving and protecting the Great Swamp is an important priority.
Interpretive programs will be planned to give people a greater appreciation of the Great Swamp.
